CAUSES OF SCARS ON THE FACE AND BODY

SCAR REMOVAL – SURGICAL TECHNIQUES
Multiple surgical techniques are applied in scar removal. The first and most common is excision of the scar and approximation of the wound edges if there is enough surrounding tissue.
Scars that pull on the surrounding tissue, causing functional disorders, are removed using what is known as plastic surgery. This technique alters the direction of the scar and reduces the tension on the surrounding skin.
Scars resulting from tissue loss are accompanied by a lack of skin coverage. In these cases, skin grafting is performed from the same person, or the use of expanders is utilized in the subcutaneous area of the surrounding region. This is a type of silicone balloon into which a physiological solution is gradually added for a specified period, stretching the skin to cover the defect.
POSTOPERATIVE PERIOD
Fresh scars should not be exposed to the sun for several months. There are products available on the market in the form of creams or gels that help make the scar as inconspicuous as possible, thereby making it more acceptable.
The importance of plastic surgery lies in enabling a relatively normal life after experiencing an injury. Thus, aesthetic operations on the face are primarily performed to ensure that the face, as the most exposed part of the body, achieves an acceptable appearance.
After an accident, physical disabilities are often accompanied by psychological trauma.
